5 Delicious Family Friendly Restaurants on Lake Lanier

1. Fish Tales

Fish Tales has been a long time favorite of lake goers since it opened in 2010. With a menu fraught with fresh seafood entrees to make your mouth water, you’ll quickly see why this lakeside gem has been named one of the Best Dining Experiences on Lake Lanier. Hang out on the deck and enjoy the live music while your children play in the nearby sandbox.

2. Pig Tales

Located at Aqualand Marina in Flowery Branch, Pig Tales was founded by the owners of Fish Tales and serves some of the best barbecue, wings, and burgers on the lake! Boasting a pet friendly outdoor patio and full bar, this upbeat restaurant has treats for kids and parents alike. Grab a quick bite or enjoy the view for hours surrounded by friendly staff with exceptional customer service.

3. Skogies

Moving to the Gainesville side of town is Skogies, one of the few restaurants on the water open year-round. Even serving breakfast, this pride of Gainesville Marina is the prime relaxed atmosphere for families looking to refuel for round two on the water. When you give this place a shot, someone has to try the famous grouper sandwich!

4. Pelican Pete's

Just a short boat ride away sits Pelican Pete’s, a lively restaurant with it’s iconic tiki hut outdoor bar and seating. Get this - it floats! That’s right, it’s a floating restaurant. Come sway in the beachy vibe for lunch. Then, those with an adventurous style should check out the jet ski and boat rentals just next door in the store!

5. Twisted Oar

You can’t have a Lake Lanier list without including a restaurant near the islands! With seafood, excellent bar staples, and TV’s galore, it makes sense the Twisted Oar is one of the most frequented water hang out spots on the lake!

These delicious diners spread across our beloved lake are only small pieces of why Hall County and Lake Lanier makes for a playground that you can live in! We love our small business community, including those serving up fun on the water, so we hope you have a chance to give them a visit soon!
